Historic Partnership: Dakila Pesquisas and UEA Join Forces to Transform the Amazon with Science and Sustainability

A strategic alliance that promises to revolutionize archaeological research, cultural preservation, and sustainable development in the Amazon has just been formalized. On January 29, 2025, the Dakila Ecosystem and the Amazonas State University (UEA) signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement, marking a significant step forward in valorizing the region's historical, cultural, and environmental heritage.

The partnership, already published in the Official Gazette, represents a milestone in the collaboration between academic institutions and independent research initiatives. It will pave the way for new archaeological, ethnolinguistic, and environmental studies in strategic areas such as Ratanabá and Caminho de Peabiru.


Science and Culture for the Amazon


With a presence in all 62 municipalities in Amazonas, UEA is a fundamental pillar for expanding research of great historical and anthropological relevance. In addition, the collaboration aims to strengthen teaching, promoting the integration between academic knowledge and traditional knowledge of Indigenous communities.

The main objectives of the agreement include:

 

✅ Sustainable Education and Tourism – Development of projects that combine culture, research, and economic opportunities for local populations.

✅ Environmental Management and Sanitation – Implementing an efficient solid waste management system to improve the sanitary conditions of indigenous villages.

✅ Global Expansion – The agreement opens doors to international collaborations, emphasizing institutions in the United Kingdom, France, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), expanding the project's impact.

✅ Strengthening of the ICP (Institute of Knowledge and Research) – New technical-scientific arm of the Dakila Ecosystem, responsible for ensuring compliance with international research standards and facilitating partnerships and financing.

 

A New Chapter for the Amazon


The agreement's signing results from two years of continuous work. It represents an essential step towards consolidating high-impact research on archaeology, paleontology, geology, and ethnolinguistics in the Amazon. The initiative also reinforces the commitment to preserving Indigenous culture and languages, promoting a dialogue between science and tradition.
