For over 30 years, Dakila Pesquisas has been unraveling the enigmas of the Caminhos de Peabiru, also known as Caminho dos Jesuítas, Caminho do Itupava, and Caminho dos Indígenas, among others. This set of historic and legendary routes, which connected regions of Brazil with other countries in South America, is a fundamental piece of the puzzle that Dakila seeks to put together in its national and international investigations. The expedition carried out in March 2025 in Cananéia, SP, brought new fragments to this comprehensive research.

Cananéia: The First City in Brazil and a Strategic Point The Dakila Research team began their journey by crossing the ferry from Porto Cubatão towards Cananéia, considered the first city in Brazil. Cananéia, with its rich history and strategic location, once again proved to be an ideal stage for investigating ancient paths and mysteries.

First Steps and Challenges On the first day of exploration (March 18, 2025), the team encountered challenges early on. When they came across a closed area, they improvised and explored a stretch of road with stairs and trails. At Praça da Figueira, an elevated point with a fascinating stone structure at the tree's base, Alexandre and Fernando captured aerial images using the drone and LiDAR technology. However, the unexpected happened: the drone lost connection and crashed into a tree at the Sabesp base. After hours of waiting for rescue, the wreckage was collected, marking the first day with obstacles overcome.

Second Journey: Searching for the Wall and Aerial Monitoring On March 19, two groups split up to expand their explorations. While the group led by Urandir investigated the dense forest in search of the old wall in the Ponto da Areia region, another group focused on aerial monitoring of the Telégrafo trail and the Peabiru Trail. The latter, with its history of following 97% of the Peabiru Trail, was the target of studies and images captured by the drone.

In connection with Local History On March 20, after adjustments to the LiDAR equipment, the team met with Iberê Jacy Teixeira, environmental monitor and president of Amoamca (Association of Environmental Monitors of Cananéia). Iberê shared information about local restrictions that protect historical and ecological heritage. This meeting highlighted Dakila's role in valuing and preserving history while investigating the mysteries of the ancient trails.

Technology and Dedication: Building History Throughout the expedition, Dakila Pesquisas used advanced technologies, such as drones and LiDAR, to create detailed orthoimages and map areas of interest. Even in the face of challenges such as the drone's crash and long walks without finding any traces, the team persevered. The research in Cananéia is an additional piece in their broad investigation that crosses Brazilian states, cities, and international points.

Conclusion: A Legacy of Discoveries The expedition in Cananéia reinforced Dakila Pesquisas' commitment to unraveling the secrets of ancient paths and contributing to preserving history. Each stage, obstacle overcome, and discovery is another step towards connecting the fragments of the past that shaped our present. Dakila remains steadfast in its mission, using technology, knowledge, and passion as its main tools.
