The multidisciplinary team from Dakila Pesquisas returned to Joinville, Santa Catarina, to further study the Caminhos de Peabiru, an ancient crossing route used by pre-Columbian civilizations. After previous expeditions revealed promising signs in the region, the researchers are now returning to analyze stone structures, ruins, and geographic formations that may give new meaning to the history of this enigmatic route.

The current expedition is again in Campos do Quiriri - SC and adjacent regions.

Previous Discoveries and Expectations for the New Stage

Past expeditions have identified peculiar reliefs, stone walls, and remains of ancient structures that indicate the presence of a distinct architectural organization in the region. These formations may be associated with those who used the Peabiru Trails as a sacred, commercial, and migratory route connecting the Brazilian coast to the Andean highlands.

Given this evidence, the Dakila Pesquisas team, comprised of archaeologists, geologists, historians, and specialists in various fields, is now seeking to collect more data, analyze the buildings' geometric patterns, and understand the relationship of these structures with other archaeological sites in South America.

The Importance of the Peabiru Trails

The Peabiru Trail is one of the most mysterious trails on the continent. Records indicate its existence thousands of years ago, possibly traced by Indigenous civilizations long before the arrival of European colonizers. This network of trails connected Brazil to Paraguay, Bolivia, and Peru, reaching as far as Machu Picchu.

The research led by Dakila Pesquisas in Joinville may reinforce hypotheses about the presence of more complex and advanced civilizations than previously thought in the southern region of Brazil. Furthermore, continuing these investigations may help uncover who built these structures and their purpose.

What's Coming?

Using high-tech equipment and a keen investigative eye, the Dakila Pesquisas team intends to map and document the structures accurately and conduct comparative analyses with other remains found along the Caminhos de Peabiru.

The discoveries could significantly impact Brazilian archaeology, providing new interpretations about the country's ancient occupation and revealing a previously untold story about the people who inhabited this region.

This research's progress will be closely monitored, and new information will be released as it progresses.
